The Team
Chad Earwood President and CEO
Chad Earwood graduated in 1994 with a B.A. from Simpson College in Indianola, IA. He has worked in sales for Airborne Express, owned a cost reduction consulting firm, a logistics franchise, and founded eShipping in 2001. He is passionate about building teams of talented people and fostering an environment for employees and customers that exemplifies honor, integrity, and communicates our mission. As eShipping's President and CEO, Chad oversees the vision, culture and overall viability of the business.
Chad currently lives in Parkville with his wife of 14 years, Marcy. They are the parents of four children: Olivia, Chloe, Quinn, and Ty.
Jim Fussell Executive Vice President
Jim Fussell earned his B.S. from the University of Tennessee. Jim brings a unique background to eShipping as he spent his early career as a farmer, seminary student, and associate Pastor at a community church in Iowa. While at seminary school in Dallas, Jim was exposed to the freight business as an employee at Conway Freight Company. Inspired by the opportunity, Jim purchased an eShipping franchise in Denver. During his six-year tenure here, he has built two offices with a total of $5 million in sales. As eShipping's Executive Vice President, Jim is responsible for recruiting, developing, training and inspiring the staff at eShipping. He has a unique ability to “see” into the hearts of his colleagues and inspire and motivate them through a corporate commitment to one another’s dreams.
Jim lives in Kansas City and is passionate about making the world a better place by improving the systems of thought and practice in our modern world. This has led him to numerous studies in the field of psychology, history and religion.
John P. Ratigan, CPA Chief Financial Officer
John graduated from Simpson College in Indianola, Iowa with a B.A. in Accounting in 1994. He passed the exam to become a Certified Public Accountant in the same month. Upon graduation, John joined a middle-market CPA firm primarily serving owner-operated and multi-generation family businesses in a variety of industries including manufacturing, wholesale/distribution, construction, real estate, heavy equipment, auto dealerships and not-for-profit organizations. He started out in the firm’s financial audit department and later switched to management consulting with a primary focus on business appraisal and performing financial due diligence audits on potential business acquisitions. Prior to joining eShipping in 2007, John served four years as CFO for an international manufacturing company. As eShipping’s Chief Financial Officer, John is responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial-related functions.
John met his wife of 6 years, Tomoe, while living in Tottori, Japan. He spent 3 years there learning the Japanese language, culture and martial arts while he taught English at an all-boys vocational school and a school for the blind. John and Tomoe live in Kansas City with their two children: Casey and Mairi.
Matt Weiss Vice President of Operations
Matt graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.S.B.A. in Business with a specialization in Operations Management & Logistics. After college Matt was recruited by UPS Freight Services to work in International Freight Forwarding. He then moved into managing multiple Logistics operations for UPS Logistics. As UPS combined Logistics and Freight Forwarding into UPS Supply Chain Solutions, Matt became one of few Implementation Project Managers to travel the US developing concepts to integrate supply chain needs into the total 3PL environment. Matt’s combination of education and experience allowed him to develop supply chain solutions case-by-case. With this expertise, he was recruited by Panalpina, Inc. to manage Business Development out of Denver, Colorado. In 2007 Matt accepted his role at eShipping. As the Vice President of Operations, Matt provides overall direction and guidance to the operational activities of the company.
Matt lives in Parkville, MO with his wife Chrissy.
